Types of
Chemical Peels
Chemical peels are treatments that can have several applications and can be used to treat acne, smooth skin texture, improve skin tone and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. During the process, Dr. Ghasri applies specific chemical ingredients to the skin and allows them to penetrate. The bonds that keep the dead or damaged cells adhered to the skin are loosened, and this allows the old layers to simply fall away. New skin growth is stimulated, and you will have a fresh, new look to your skin within a few days and up to two weeks later. Different types of chemical peels are available to meet your needs.
Glycolic acid and TCA peels are two of the most common types of chemical peels. Superficial peels can be performed with both types of acid. Glycolic acid is an excellent choice for people with acne-prone skin and can help reduce the frequency of breakouts, tighten pores and firm the skin. Low concentration TCA peels offer deeper exfoliation that clears congested pores and reduces the appearance of sun spots, acne marks and dullness, leaving your skin soft, smooth and clear.
Higher concentrations of TCA and phenol can be used for a medium depth peel. Medium depth peels penetrate more deeply into the skin and are extremely effective not only for superficial skin concerns but also for scarring, mild to moderate wrinkling, acne, actinic keratosis and melasma. Dr. Peyman Ghasri will recommend the best types of chemical peels for your skin after examining the treatment area and discussing your goals with you.
