Medical Dermatology - TCA Cross

TCA Cross technique is a very effective method in treating specific types of acne scars. It involves the application of Trichloroacetic Acid 100% into ice pick or boxcar acne scars, stimulating collagen production in the scar. The treatment may need to be repeated in several sessions. Patients can experience a significant improvement as the trauma caused by the acid on the base of the scar awakens the collagen producing cells, stimulating more collagen production and flattening of the scar. It is safe in all skin colors however one must be careful in darker skin individuals.
